Stewardess on ferry 'didn't recognise Prince'

PRINCE WILLIAM: reported to have been travelling with friends

PRINCE William is reported to have travelled on a cross-Channel ferry from Dover to Calais during half-term week and been refused access to an exclusive lounge.

There are claims that a stewardess on board a P&O ferry did not recognise the heir to the throne, and stopped him entering the Club Class lounge on board the ship.

The Prince was said to have been travelling unofficially with friends and did not have tickets for the lounge, which was full.

A P&O spokeswoman said they had not been informed that Prince William was travelling on one of their ferries, although there was some talk at the port that he had been on board.

"If it was him, we are pleased he chose to travel with us," said the spokeswoman.
