Police are hunting three muggers after a victim was held down and attacked last night.
The robbers then took off with his mobile phone and wallet.
The victim, in his 50s, was mugged at 9.45pm at Coombe Valley Road, Dover, outside the Primrose Industrial Estate.
He was walking along Coombe Valley Road when he was approached by three men who asked him for a light.
When he stopped to help, one of the men assaulted him and went through his pockets, taking his wallet, a mobile phone and a packet of tobacco, while the other two men held him down.
All three then ran off towards London Road.
Detective Insp Dave Cox said: ‘We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or who recognises the descriptions of the three men, to contact us."
One suspect is described as in his late 20s, of a stocky build and clean-shaven with dark hair. He was wearing a white Puffa-style jacket.
The other two men police wish to speak to were both wearing dark clothing.
All three were about 6ft tall.
