A Dover woman who missed out on doing a charity head shave for her 70th birthday has finally had her locks lopped.
Sue Scott was scalped at Hunters salon in Dover, losing her 24inch long mane which she had been growing especially since December.
The River resident collected £585 in sponsorship from friends and family in aid of Demelza children’s hospice in Sittingbourne.
Mrs Smith has worked in nursing, children's homes and as a child minder, finishing up at a nursing home for people with learning disabilities when she retired in 2011.
She said: "I have always worked with children or in nursing so I combined the two."
Having had no connection to Demelza, she felt it was a "good local charity" and wanted to offer it her support.
Mrs Smith's hair was chopped on July 17, four days after her 71st birthday by her regular stylist Debbie, based at the salon in Biggin Street.
All funds have been transferred to Demelza.
