Kent Police arrest suspected drug-driver on A2 outside Whitfield near Dover

A suspected drug-driver has been taken into custody by police attending a broken-down vehicle.

Officers were called to the A2 outside Whitfield, near Dover, this morning after a lorry broke down on the coast-bound carriageway.

While at the scene, shortly after 5am, they stopped a car and the driver – a 31-year-old man from Folkestone – was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers attended the scene following a report of a lorry broken down.

“While attending, officers also had reason to stop a car. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and taken into custody.”
