The new restaurant will be next to Cineworld cinema and Sussex Beds and will join Nando's, Kaspas, Greggs and Burger King at the shopping centre.

The opening date of the new restaurant is not yet known, but Taco Bell have been approached for a comment.

Bosses at St James' - also home to Next, M&S Foodhall and Iceland - revealed the American chain would be opening earlier this year.

A post on their Facebook page in April said: "New store coming soon.

"The famous Mexican-inspired Taco Bell is coming to St James!

"Their bold and crave-able dishes wait to satisfy your taste buds."

It is one of three new restaurants planned for St James' in Dover - German Doner Kebab and Jamaican restaurant Jerk 'n' Tingz are also opening at the centre.

Taco Bell came to the UK in 2010 and currently operates more than 80 restaurants.

Kent saw its first Taco Bell arrive at the Chatham Dockyard in Medway in 2019, and a second one opened in Maidstone earlier this year.

The firm has also revealed plans to open more stores in Canterbury - one a drive thru off Sturry Road and a second in the High Street.

It serves a selection of dishes, from burritos to quesadillas, to churros dipped in chocolate.
