Teenager rescued from attack by mystery woman

Attempts are being made to trace a woman who came to the rescue of a 16-year-old girl who was being assaulted.

Police say the girl was walking along London Road in Dover, towards Cherry Tree Avenue when she was approached by a man who was abusive and threatened her.

A woman came over to ask if the girl was all right and the man left.

The offender is described as black, more than 5ft 5in and older than 35. He was of average build with short black dreadlocks, and was wearing a blue top and pink tracksuit bottoms.

He had a bike with him and was carrying Somerfield carrier bags.

The woman who helped, and anyone who may have seen the incident - which happened between 3.30pm and 4pm on Monday, April 7 - is asked to contact police on 01304 240055 or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
