"Some services were and may be delayed, revised or cancelled."

One line is now back open at Dover Priory and Network Rail is working to restore power to the other line.

The spokesman added: "Trains may be revised or cancelled.

"You can use your ticket on Stagecoach bus routes 15, 81 and 102 at no extra cost."

An earlier service update said trains via Canterbury East were also affected.

There was also a signal fault at Deal causing disruption but this has now been fixed.

Southeastern has directed passengers to its website where you can claim compensation if you are delayed by 15 minutes or more.
