TWO people were taken to hospital this afternoon following an accident on the A2 at Whitfield, near Dover.

Ambulance crews from Dover and Canterbury were called to the scene after two vehicles collided on a single-carriageway section of the road.

A campaign has been underway for many years to have this section dualled.

The two casualties were taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with various injuries.
