A COUPLE from Shepherdswell are still in hospital with serious injuries today following a head-on crash on the A2 Jubilee Way at Dover yesterday morning.

The accident happened soon after 7am and the alarm was raised by a motorist who reported that one car had spun across the road into the path of another. An ambulance crew attended and found that two people were trapped.

The driver of a Vauxhall Cavalier, heading towards London, suffered a broken pelvis and serious head injuries. His wife suffered a broken arm and leg.

The driver of a black Volkswagen Golf, from London, who was heading towards Dover, suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed as firefighters from Dover and Whitfield used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the victims. All three were taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. At one stage doctors considered transferring the Cavalier driver to a London hospital.

Police investigating the crash say they would like to hear from any witnesses to the accident, particularly anyone who saw the black Volkswagen Golf travelling down Jubilee Way before the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 01622 608155 quoting the reference 21:130.
