Dashcam footage has emerged showing a driver mounting a pavement while overtaking a coach.

The video appears to capture the driver of a blue 4x4 as they pull out of Bridge Street in Dover, at its crossroads with the A256 Charlton Green.

The car follows a coach, turning right onto one-way Charlton Green which becomes Maison Dieu Road.

The driver quickly attempts to drive alongside the coach. But when it becomes clear there is not enough space, it mounts the pavement – where three people including a child are walking.

A timestamp on the video, posted to Youtube, suggests it was captured just before 4pm yesterday.

Thousands of people have viewed the video.

Police are investigating the incident.

A spokesman said: "Officers are following a number of lines of enquiry and are keen to hear from any witnesses.
