The White Cliffs of Dover could become one of the new wonders of the world - if enough people vote for them.
The global race to choose the Official New7Wonders of Nature is gaining momentum on all continents.
At the end of December one national nominee will represent each country, and the White Cliffs are competing against the likes of Loch Ness in Scotland, the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland and the Brecon Beacon hills in Wales.
It is being organised by the New7Wonders Foundation, which has the express aim of undertaking documentation and conservation works of monuments worldwide under the motto Our Heritage is Our Future.
Through film, television, the Internet and books, the foundation wants to make people aware of the beauty of the world’s heritage, both man-made and natural, and its destruction and decay.
