The future of fun fairs in a town centre park will be raised this week.
It follows 'uproar' after a fair was cancelled earlier this year, only to be reinstated later.
Two councillors will now quiz Dover District Council (DDC) about the future of fairs in Dover's Pencester Gardens.
The questions will come from town councillor Graham Wanstall and Pam Brivio, district member for Tower Hamlets, and will be asked at Wednesday's full council meeting.
Cllr Wanstall is expected to say: "There was an uproar recently when DDC did not allow the fair to come to Pencester Gardens - this caused a quick change of mind.
"We are informed that DDC has a desire to upgrade Pencester Gardens in the future and this will not be consistent with using Pencester Gardens as a venue for fairs and similar activities.
"Therefore, will you now please give an undertaking that no decisions will be made on upgrading and preventing community events that have been enjoyed for generations without a full and proper public consultation?"
A two-week event at the park by Manning’s and Thurston’s Family Fun Fair was cancelled for the end of May.
Dover District Council said it wanted the park kept as a town centre open space and no longer felt the park was suitable for a fun fair.
It said one concern was about the movement and siting of lorries and heavy fairground equipment.
Speaking at the time, co-organiser John Thurston said: "It's a real shame. Dover isn't our biggest money maker, but it is nice to be there.
"We've made some really strong ties."
Yet the fair did go ahead there, from June 17 to 26.
The full Dover District Council meeting is from 6pm this Wednesday at the council headquarters at the White Cliffs Business Park, Whitfield.
Other questions to be asked include one about additional public toilets in town, and what eco measures will be added to new homes being built in the district.
