A MOTHER has been charged with murdering her four-year-old son at their home.

Patricia McCarvill, 46, of Albert Road, Dover, appeared before magistrates at Folkestone charged with killing son Jamie on June 11 last year. Jamie was found with gunshot wounds and his mother suffered serious injuries in the incident.

French-born Mrs McCarvill was remanded on conditional bail and is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on October 7.

Until last summer Mrs McCarvill had been employed for 13 years by Dover District Council at the tourist information office in the town. Her husband, Frank, is a hotel services manager for the East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust.
