A woman had to be cut out of her car following a three-car crash in Whitfield.

Emergency services were called to Forge Lane at 8.25pm yesterday and found someone was trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof of the car so they could release her, and had passed her into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service by 9.35pm.

It is not yet known if she was injured.
