A woman was freed by firefighters today after a crash involving a car and a van near a primary school in Aylesham.

Two fire engines attended the crash in Attlee Avenue at 11.30am.

Crews helped release a woman who was unable to move and was trapped in the car using hydraulic rescue equipment.

She was passed in to the care of an ambulance crew. After assessment and treatment by paramedics she was not required to be taken to hospital.

Kent Police were also at the scene.
