A YOUNG woman has been issued with a fixed penalty notice for making a number of hoax fire calls.
The 19-year-old from Dover was arrested following joint work by Kent Police and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service who traced the calls. She was ordered to pay £80.
Station Commander Simon Smith said: "The making of false calls to KFRS puts lives at risk and means an appliance is not available to other calls."
Acting Inspector Guy Thompson, of Dover District Neighbourhood Policing Unit, said: "This has been a good result and we will continue to work with all our emergency service colleagues to deal with those making false calls and putting lives at risk."
