A woman was left terrified after two youths pulled a gun on her.
She said the teenagers pointed it at her in London Road, Dover, this afternoon and then ran off.
Police confirmed they are searching the area for two suspects.
The woman said on social media earlier: "Just a warning to anyone walking about or have kids out and about.
"I've just had a teenage boy pull a gun out and point it at me.
"It was probably a fake gun but still looked real enough to scare the life out of me."
She said the ordeal happened near a car wash at the junction of London Road and Beaconsfield Road in the Buckland area of the town.
She described the youths as Eastern European and aged about 13.
She said they were wearing dark Puffa-style jackets with the hoods up.
The suspects then ran off along Beaconsfield Road.
A police spokesman said: "At around 4.30pm today we received the first of a number of reports of two boys in their early teens playing with a BB gun in the area of Beaconsfield Road, Dover.
"Officers attended and are continuing to make inquiries to locate those responsible and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident."
