Defender Shadrach Ogie feels he has already established a good understanding with Bobby-Joe Taylor on the left-hand side in Dover’s team.
Ogie, who has joined on loan from Leyton Orient, has impressed in the early stages of his spell with Whites.
The 18-year-old starred for Andy Hessenthaler’s team on his home debut on Saturday in their 2-0 National League success over Aldershot, capping his performance with a fine solo goal.
Ogie has slotted in at left-back with ex-Maidstone man, Taylor, who had been playing that position, moving into midfield.
“I have been linking up well with Bob,” Ogie said.
"He was the left-back before I came here but he is normally a left winger.
"Me and him have been communicating really well towards one another.
"He’s a great lad and a great player, as well."
With Dover 1-0 ahead after captain Kevin Lokko had broken the deadlock, Ogie picked the ball up inside his own half before he drove into the away penalty box and drilled in Dover's second in style.
On his goal, Ogie said: “I got it in my half and travelled with it.
"I was actually going to try and square it but I thought ‘No. Actually, I’m going to take it on myself’.
"I gave the defender the eye that I was going to square it.
"He tried to read me but that didn’t work out for him, really."
Dover have already started to utilise Ogie’s long throw which caused the Shots problems at Crabble, too.
Ogie explained: “The gaffer (Hessenthaler) was saying every team kinda has a danger man (who can take long throws).
“Obviously, it looks like that will be me for Dover.
“It looks like we will be using my (long throws) to help get us up the pitch, as well as to score goals from my throw-ins. We have been working on that in training.
“So, I think we will keep working on that.”
Ogie also thanked his new team-mates who have helped him to settle in.
“They have been really encouraging, just motivating me,” he said.
“Obviously, I’m the new lad here and the youngest in the team, so they have been motivating me to make sure I play to the best of my ability.
“To me, they have been a bunch of great lads and I would like to thank them for that.”
Ogie will hope to continue his impressive start to life with Dover tonight as Whites visit Halifax.
He said: "It will be great to spend the night away with the boys and, hopefully, we can get another three points."
