Dover goalkeeper Andy Rafferty kept his sixth consecutive Vanarama Conference clean sheet at Crabble in the 5-0 win against Nuneaton Town on Tuesday night.

But you won’t find the modest Rafferty taking all the credit as his side extended their unbeaten run at home in the league to six games, including five wins.

Rafferty, who arrived from League 2 side Hartlepool United in September after Mitch Walker was injured at Dartford, is happy to play down his role.

He said: “You have got to give plenty of credit to the lads in the line in front of me. They are performing so well.

“They are putting their bodies on the line, making quality tackles and generally making it easy for me. They are playing so well and that reflects in our results.

"There is no shortage of confidence or self belief which is great for a keeper to have in front of him.”

Rafferty, 26, who has also yet to concede a goal in this season’s FA Cup run, fractured his nose in the league clash against Braintree at Crabble on November 11 and says he’s put off surgery to continue playing.

“That (surgery) would have seen me out for three or four weeks and I wasn’t about to have that. I can handle it.

“But I can tell you I won’t be wearing the mask they gave me. It wasn’t anywhere as flash that the ones they use in the Premier League – I looked more like something out of a horror film.”
