Dover keeping faith with boss Walker

WHATEVER the outcome of Dover Athletic's crucial final Ryman League Division 1 match on Saturday, manager Clive Walker's position at the club is secure for one more season.
Whites need three points against Whyteleafe at Crabble to guarantee a place in the play-off semi-finals and they go into the game with Walker having been offered a one-year extension to his contract.
Rather than waiting until the end of the season before considering Walker’s future, the Dover board decided to show their faith in him ahead of Saturday's nail-biter.
Chairman Jim Parmenter said: "We have been delighted with Clive’s work since he came back to the club. We need stability at Dover Athletic and Clive has a proven track record second to none.
"There has been too much chopping and changing at this club down the years and we are not going to make those same mistakes again."
Walker, who returned to the club as manager when Mr Parmenter took charge 16 months ago, said: "I have got to sit down with Jim to talk things over, but it’s nice that they have made the offer now, rather than waiting until the end of the season."
