Dover Athletic scored a late winner at Crabble this afternoon as they beat Guiseley in the National League.

Chris Kinnear’s side made it three wins from three after their 2-1 win.

Mitch Brundle gave the home side an early lead after seven minutes when he fired home from 25 yards.

Dover looked comfortable but couldn’t find the second and the away side scored through Dayle Southwell after 63 minutes against the run of play.

When it looked like the Whites were heading for a draw Mitch Pinnock scored two minutes from time after twisting and turning in the box to get his shot away.

Pinnock nearly gave Dover an early lead when he hit the bar in the opening four minutes. His shot from 20 yards beat the keeper but cannoned back off the woodwork.

Mitch Brundle opened the scoring with a wonderful drive into the top corner after only seven minutes. The captain picked up the ball from 25 yards and smashed it into back of the net.

Dover nearly had their second after 15 minutes when Ryan Bird had the ball in the back of the net but it was ruled offside. Brundle’s cross from the left found the striker free but he was just ahead of the defender.

Guiseley had the chance to get back into the game after 20 minutes from McFadzean’s corner. Harry Flowers had a free header in the middle of the box but he couldn’t get it on target.

Dover’s goalkeeper Mitch Walker was forced into making two saves with two minutes left of the first half. McFadzean and Roberts both had chances for the visitors but Walker did well to save low down.

Brundle nearly doubled the home side’s advantage three minutes after the half-time break when his driven shot from the edge of the area was deflected just wide.

It was Guiseley who scored the next goal against the run of play in the 63rd minute when Dayle Southwell scored directly from a free-kick. Josh Passley gave away a foul 25 yards from goal and Southwell converted with Walker rooted to the spot.

Mitch Pinnock thought he had put Dover back in front when his lovely curling shot found the bottom corner in the 67th minute. The flag was up from an earlier offside and it didn’t count.

Pinnock finally got his deserved goal two minutes from time when he broke down the left. He turned his man in the box and smashed low past Luke Coddington to grab the three points.
