Dover boss Andy Hessenthaler has boosted his squad with the signing of Ryan Hanson on loan for a month from Hull City.

The move represents something of a homecoming for Hanson, who played for Dover at under-13s level before joining Crystal Palace.

He spent five years at Palace before moving to Hull in the summer of 2019.

A former Dover Grammar School for Boys pupil, the 19-year-old had previously represented Dover District and the county, starting playing football for Dover Rangers when he was six.

Hanson goes into the Dover squad for Saturday's National League trip to King's Lynn.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail last December, boss Grant McCann said of Hanson: “Ryan Hanson is injured at the minute, which is gutting for us because he would’ve been heavily involved with us.

“There’s no doubt about that. I love the kid, I think he’s top class. We’re gutted that he’s injured, especially with the injuries we’ve got in his position.

“Ever since I saw him train with us down here I’ve liked him. He passes forward, breaks lines, takes risks, good legs, a good size. I’ve got high expectations for him."
