Mitch Walker has signed for Aldershot Town after being released by Dover at the end of the 2018/2019 campaign.

The goalkeeper left Whites in April having managed 279 appearances across all competitions after signing for the club in 2012.

He saw a stretch of 91 consecutive starts in the league come to an end in March when he was replaced by Lee Worgan for Dover's 3-0 win over Braintree.

He told Aldershot's official club website: "Every single time I've played at Aldershot we've had a very competitive game. It's a big club and always one I've enjoyed playing at. I'm very much looking forward to getting going.

"It's a big club and an ex-football league club. I think last year they had a difficult season as well as Dover where I was at previously. That was a little bit strange as in previous years Aldershot have always been at the right end of the table pushing for promotion, which is where I want to be.

"I'm an ambitious person. I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds with Aldershot."

Reflecting on his season with Dover, he added: "It was a difficult challenge to be honest. For the seven years I was at Dover, in six of the seven we were fighting for promotion and had several successful years but last year it was a different challenge. The club didn't get off to a very good start but we ultimately did very well to turn it around."
