Chris Kinnear says Dover will see the benefit of appointing former Welling United manager Loui Fazakerley to his backroom staff at Crabble.
The 31-year-old made more than 200 appearances for the Wings in a near eight-year stint at Park View Road, but was relieved of his role at the helm last month after a poor run of results left United in the Vanarama National League drop zone.
Fazakerley joined Dover as a fitness coach last week and took the warm-up ahead of the FA Trophy draw with Guiseley on Saturday and was due to have done the same when his former team visited Crabble on Tuesday night in the rearranged clash following last month’s abandonment - only for that game to be postponed.
Kinnear said: “He’s joined us now. He’s with us full-time. We didn’t want to announce it (before the Welling game) and make a big fuss. He didn’t want it to be about him.
“He’ll do a good job for us, that’s his profession. Anything we can do is going to be of benefit.”
Fazakerley told fans on twitter: “(I’m) very happy to have joined Dover Athletic as fitness coach. (I’ve) only been in for a week but can tell it’s a good club with a great group of lads.”
Welling’s visit to Crabble - which was postponed due to the FA Trophy replay at Guiseley, which itself fell foul of the weather - has been rearranged for Tuesday, March 8, while the trip to Altrincham will take place on Tuesday, April 5, both 7.45pm.
