NUNEATON snatched a late equaliser on Saturday to deny Dover their first win in the Dr Martens League's premier division since early January.

A surprise inclusion in Whites’ line-up was Billy Bone, who has just returned to this country after having played in Singapore for a number of seasons.

Matt Carruthers was missing with tonsillitis, and youngsters Craig Cloke and Laurence Ball were again in the starting line-up.

Dover looked the better side in the first half, but both sides found it hard to create anything in front of goal, as both defences looked solid. Bone was outstanding in Dover’s midfield in the first period, and he had a fierce free-kick well saved by home ‘keeper Darren Acton.

Dover continued to threaten in the second half, and after 50 minutes Jones Awuah played a one-two with Craig Wilkins before putting Whites ahead with a low shot into the far corner of the goal.

But with under six minutes left Borough substitute Matt Lamb blasted an equaliser for the home side as Dover’s defence failed to clear.

Once again, it was a good performance from Dover against one of the clubs near the top of the League table. But there was that feeling that it was two points lost thanks to another late goal conceded.
