Dover assistant manager Jake Leberl is a firm believer in the saying “you only get out of it what you put in".

He knows his players must put in maximum effort if they are to keep their Skrill South play-off ambitions alive.

And it’s not going to be easy with the seventh-placed Whites, who are just a point off the fifth and final play-off position, facing the daunting task of three games in six days.

That gruelling assignment starts with a tough opener on Thursday – a trip to relegation threatened Tonbridge Angels.

Whites then play Staines at Crabble on Saturday before hitting the road to champions elect, leaders Eastleigh, on Tuesday.

Leberl is under no illusions about what the side is in for. He said: “It’s going to be a tough few days – there is no doubt about that. But we need points and to perform to get them.”

Second-bottom Tonbridge led 2-0 at Concord on Tuesday night before the home side fought back to draw 2-2.

Leberl believes that game could give Dover, who last played on Saturday, an advantage.

He said: “Hopefully that performance took a bit out of them and they will be feeling a bit tired.

“Saying that, there is always a bit of spice in the games between them and us and I am sure this one will be no different."
