Dover Athletic assistant manager Jake Leberl said his team wants to go all the way to Wembley and win the FA Trophy.

The Whites are the second highest ranked team left in the competition but have to overcome Leyton Orient at Crabble on Saturday to make it to the quarter-finals.

Leberl is hoping for a big crowd for their third straight home match in the trophy.

He said: “It’s going to be tough but if we want to win this, which obviously we do, we have to beat clubs like Leyton Orient on the way.

“It’s going to be a good crowd down here next week, like it was for the community day, Leyton Orient are a good side and have some good players.”

Dover have enjoyed a return to winning ways after a dip in form over Christmas where they picked up four draws and a defeat.

They have won their last three in all competitions and Leberl said spirits are high in the dressing room.

He said: “We have drawn too many, especially over the Christmas period, we felt we dropped quite a few points, which we were disappointed to, as it would have kept us right up there.

“It looks like we’ve got ourselves back. The lads confidence is coming back.”

The Whites have been boosted by the extension of Anthony Jeffrey’s loan from Sutton United until the end of the season.

Leberl said the club is still looking to add to the squad and they may pick up a player as the transfer window in the football league comes to a close.

He said: “Anthony Jeffrey has unbelievable pace and trickery. You see him in training and he’s a standout player. We just need to try and get him fit and playing as many minutes as we can.

“For those types of players it’s difficult to play 90 minutes with the amount of fast sprints they do and I thought he had his best game for us today.

“Often the case is things don’t work out for lads and there will be a couple of people surplus to requirements. That might create an opening for us.

“If the right player comes along for what we are looking for in the right position then obviously we will do all we can to get him.”
