Two late goals from Tom Murphy kept Dover Athletic alive in the Skrill South play-off battle with a 2-1 win at fellow contenders Concord Rangers on Saturday.

Whites looked set for a second away defeat in four days after the 1-0 reverse at champions Eastleigh on Tuesday as they trailed 1-0 on Canvey Island with 16 minutes remaining.

However two goals in eight minutes from former Margate winger Murphy ensured the points for Whites, cancelling out Tony Stokes’ opener for the hosts shortly after the hour mark.

The three points were vital for Dover as it kept them fifth, occupying the final play-off spot, and ahead of sixth-placed Havant & Waterlooville on goal-difference, though the Hawks do have an extra game to play.

Dover’s penultimate fixture is at home to relegation-threatened Whitehawk on Easter Monday (3pm).

Fourth-placed Ebbsfleet are three points ahead of Dover, with an inferior goal-difference, though they too have a game in hand on Chris Kinnear’s side.
