Top scorer Alfie Pavey has left Dover for one of their league rivals.
Pavey, 27, last week was transfer-listed by new Whites boss Mitch Brundle alongside winger Luke Wanadio and has now left for Braintree.
One of his eight National League South goals this season came in October’s 3-1 success at Crabble over the Essex outfit.
Striker Pavey, whose contract with the Kent club was terminated "by mutual consent", told the Irons' YouTube channel: “I think it’s common knowledge that I was put on the transfer list last week, probably to save money in some sort of way down there.
“Braintree got in contact straight away - with a few other clubs - and it was just about weighing up my options because this next move in my career is quite important.
“With where Braintree are currently, I think they have got a good chance of getting in the play-offs and that’s where I see myself right now.”
Pavey rejoined Whites permanently last summer after a successful loan stint in the 2021/22 season.
He scored six goals in 18 matches for a Dover team which finished bottom of the National League before being recalled by Maidstone for their National League South title run-in last March.
Pavey revealed he would be leaving the Stones in May and this season headed back to Dover for a second permanent stint.
His last Whites appearance came off the bench on Tuesday in their 3-0 home loss to promotion-chasing Worthing.
A club spokesman said: "We wish him well in the future and thank him for his time with us."
Dover, 15th, are at Slough this Saturday, while ninth-placed Braintree travel to Chippenham.
Defender Jake Goodman was sent off in midweek for Whites but his ban has been rescinded by the FA after an appeal.
Right-back Myles Judd will, however, begin a two-game suspension after the Slough match due to an accumulation of cautions.
