Chris Kinnear's double substitution helped Dover earn a point against Barrow.

Whites had struggled against the resolute Bluebirds, before the 62nd-minute introduction of Tobi Sho-Silva and Kadell Daniel.

Daniel lifted the subdued Crabble crowd, setting up the equaliser for Ryan Bird 10 minutes later.

Kinnear said: "They both did well when they went on but it was a disappointing performance.

"We lacked a bit of spark and looked a little bit tired and leggy, but it's 10 points from the first five games and keeps us up there.

"We also missed Josh Passley (who cried off ill before the game) because he is always an attacking threat.

"The goal was also a disappointing one to concede because we should have stopped the cross."

Kinnear added: "The boys are still learning but they showed plenty of resilience and spirit to get us back in the match.

"We lived dangerously at the end - but that is because we wanted to go and win the game.

"It was the same at Halifax in the week - they scored in the 92nd minute and we got the winner in the 94th."

Former Crystal Palace and Charlton youngster Daniel set up Bird to head Dover level and the substitute was delighted to play his part.

He said: "When I came on the aim was to get balls into the box, and I did that.

"I think I over-hit a couple of crosses which I wish I could have done better with, but I was very pleased to get an assist.

"Things have gone well so far. I came here a couple of weeks into pre-season, played a few games and then got a one-year contract.

"I will try and take my opportunity when I get the chance, and when the gaffer gives me the nod to start, try and help the team."

Kinnear says it's too early to know the extent of Giancarlo Gallifuoco's foot injury.

The defender limped off after only 28 minutes to be replaced by George Essuman, making his first appearance for the club.

He said: "We will have to wait a couple of days for it to settle down, but I thought George went on and did well."
