DOVER Athletic's bid to end their 14-year wait for a trophy ended in disappointment when they were beaten 4-1 by Ashford Town (Middlesex) in the final of the Ryman League Westview Cup final at Bromley.

Whites' manager Clive Walker fielded a full-strength side but Dover were always played second fiddle to the Ryman League Premier Division strugglers.

Ashford built a 4-0 lead before former Gillingham player Jon Wallis pulled one back for Dover two minutes from time.
