Dover goalkeeper Mitch Walker has had enough of losing against Saturday’s Vanarama Conference opponents Eastleigh.

That’s not surprising when you consider the England C No.1 has been on the losing side in the past four matches against the Hampshire side.

Eastleigh beat Dover twice on the way to clinching the Conference South title last season, winning 2-1 at Crabble and 1-0 at home.

They also beat Whites 3-2 in the FA Trophy.

The last time Dover beat Eastleigh was in the first leg of the 2012-13 semi-final play-offs when they won 3-1. They lost the second leg 2-0 but went through on penalties.

Walker said he’d love to put an end to Eastleigh’s apparent dominance over his side in the clash at Crabble on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

He said: “It’s not a great record and it’s about time we got one over them.

“There wouldn’t be a better time to do it than in front of our fans on Saturday.”

But Walker knows it won’t be easy against a new-look Eastleigh line-up.

Eastleigh are fourth in the league and unbeaten after two wins and a draw. They’ve spent plenty of money on ensuring their first season in non league’s top-flight is a success.

Walker said: “They’ve certainly splashed the cash and signed a number of high-profile players over the summer.

“There is pressure on them to perform after doing that.

“Failure to win promotion will be seen as a failure for them.

“Our games against them have always been tight and no doubt this one will also be the same.

“We have just got to make sure we are switched on from the start and get the result we know we are capable of.”
