Second-half goals from Sean Raggett and Barry Cogan led Dover to a comfortable Vanarama Conference derby win at toothless Welling on New Year's Day.
It means Dover head into Sunday's FA Cup third round tie with Premier League Crystal Palace at Crabble in the best of spirits.
After a dour first half there was only ever likely to be one winner after the break, although Welling were left to reflect that both Dover goals came from corners in the end.
Dover thrashed the Wings 4-0 on Boxing Day in a one-sided affair but this was a more even contest although Stefan Payne missed an early opening to put Whites ahead.
The best Welling could muster was a long-range Jake Gallagher effort that went over while the only meaningful effort on goal was Payne's weak near-post attempt from Nick Deverdics' cross just before the break.
Tom Murphy exchanged passes with Payne before Sam Corne snuffed out the danger and then Payne closed down keeper Jonathan Henly's clearance but the ball went just wide.
Dover found the net on 64 minutes when Cogan's corner was powerfully headed in from close range by Raggett.
Former Dartford defender Tom Bonner did well to block Welling substitute Keiron St.Aimie's effort but it was 2-0 with 12 minutes left when a corner was cleared only as far as Cogan, whose strike found the back of the net via the post and a Welling defender on the line.
The hard-working Charlie Penny nearly pulled one back straight away but his shot went across the face of goal from a tight angle while Cogan had a late attempt cleared off the line by Zach Fagan.
