Whites seek fifth league win on the trot

DANNY CHAPMAN: suspension looming

DOVER Athletic will be looking for a fifth successive league win on New Year’s Day when they travel to Essex to take on Chelmsford City.

The Dr Martens League clash takes place at Billericay’s New Lodge ground (3pm), where City are groundsharing this season.

Chelmsford are struggling, lying third from bottom with 19 points from 22 games, although they did draw 2-2 at the Hoverspeed Stadium in October. Their chances of making Conference 2 look bleak and they have managed only one home win all season.

Dover came through the 2-0 home win over Eastbourne Borough without any new injury problems and manager Richard Langley planned to select from the same squad who were on duty on Boxing Day.

But Langley will have to make changes for Saturday’s home game against Worcester City, with defender Danny Chapman and midfielder Lee Spiller both starting suspensions.

* Dover have been drawn at home to Folkestone Invicta in the fourth round of the Dr Martens League Cup.
