Andy Hessenthaler insists his Dover team won’t get carried away – despite moving into the National League play-off places.

Hessenthaler’s Whites claimed their biggest victory of the season on Saturday, beating AFC Fylde 5-1.

That result moved them into sixth spot but Hessenthaler says there are plenty of points to play for before the end of the season.

Ahead of Dover’s trip to Solihull Moors this weekend, he said: “I think every game is big now, whoever we are playing.

“That’s our next game, so we have to go there and continue it (Dover’s recent good form) and make sure that we go and get a result.

“If we keep winning games, we are going to achieve it (finishing in a play-off position).

"But we are not going to get carried away.

“There are 33 points available to us still, so we are just going to keep chalking them off.

“I think what we have done to turn things around lately is our home form has got better. We have won four out of our last five at home.”

When Whites met fellow play-off chasers Solihull at Crabble in November, they drew 1-1.

Hessenthaler added: “We are in there (the play-off places) now aren’t we, so let’s stay in there.

“If we win every game now, we will be in the play-offs.

“I thought we played excellently against Solihull Moors here (at Crabble) and ended up drawing.

“I thought we played some lovely football and we have just got to try and do that again.”

Inih Effiong scored a hat-trick for Whites against Fylde, Bobby-Joe Taylor was also on target and on-loan frontman Dominic Poleon capped his first Dover start with a goal.

“Dominic was brilliant and his experience can only help us between now and the end of the season,” Hessenthaler said.

He also praised the performance of midfielder Jack Munns.

Hessenthaler explained: “There were some good performances.

"Jack Munns was outstanding, he was my man-of-the-match without a shadow of a doubt.

“He is smaller than me but he has a big heart, he was everywhere.

"He looks fit, he was good on the ball and him and Woodsy (Michael Woods) were tremendous.”

Skipper Kevin Lokko missed Dover’s win after going off with concussion in their loss away to leaders Barrow, and Hessenthaler feels it will be touch and go as to whether the centre-back will be fit enough to return this Saturday.

Right-back Josh Passley (thigh), forward Anthony Jeffrey (knee) and midfielder Oscar Gobern are also doubts.
