FORMER Big Brother contestant Jade Goody will kick off a fund-raising football match at Dover on Sunday.
Financially-troubled Dover Athletic are staging a fund-raising match toward their fighting fund, which will start at 1.30pm at their Hoverspeed Stadium.
The present Dover side will take on an ex-Dover team and a supporters’ side.
The game will be split into two halves. The ex-Dover team will play one half and supporters will turn out for the second.
The aim is to raise three supporters’ teams (33 players), who will play 15 minutes per team. It costs £15 to take part.
Former Whites Maurice Munden, Terry Cordice, Timmy Dixon, Iain O’Connell, Corey Browne, Tony Browne, Lee Spiller, Jamie Day and, possibly, goalscoring legend David Leworthy are due to play.
Ex-Reading and Wolves player Michael Gilkes and former Gillingham stalwart Dave Mehmet are also expected to take part.
Cheques for the Dover Athletic Fighting Fund should be sent to Trustees of DAFC, Town Centre Management, 21 Pencester Road, Dover, CT16 1BT or go to the link below.
