Dartford v Dover Athletic

A bumper crowd is expected to descend on Princes Park on Tuesday night as Dartford host rivals Dover in the Ryman League, Premier Division.

Darts defender Jamie Coyle is relishing the opportunity to test himself against title favourites Dover, who got their season off to a flyer with a 4-0 home win over Harrow.

“It’s going to be huge,” he said. “I wasn’t at Dartford when they were last in the league together but I know there’s a bit of rivalry and I’m looking forward to it.

“They’re favourites to win the league and it’s going to be a big test for us. We’re looking forward to it and we’re confident we’ll do well.”

The sides last met at Princes Park in the league in December 2006 when they drew 1-1. A crowd of 1,652 watched the game and a similar crowd is expected this time around, with former Darts favourite Andy Hessenthaler now in charge of the visitors.

Dartford, who lost their season opener 3-0 at Hendon, will hand home debuts to a number of summer signings while

Hessenthaler will make a late decision on striker Nathan Bailey’s fitness (ankle).

Fellow forward Shaun Welford (shin) could come into contention if the summer signing cannot play, but Alan Pouton (back) and Craig Cloke (recovering from his kidney operation) are definitely ruled out.

Dartford manager Tony Burman has no fresh injury concerns following Saturday’s defeat but is expected to make a couple of changes.
