Dover boss Chris Kinnear hasn’t seen his side keep a clean sheet for five games in all competitions.
By his own admission Whites’ defence is not looking as impregnable as it did during a 14-game unbeaten run in Vanarama Conference before the 1-0 loss at Lincoln on January 31.
And Kinnear knows he has to do something about it.
His side have picked up just one point out of a possible nine from their past three games following the defeats at Lincoln and FC Halifax (3-2) and the 2-2 draw against struggling Southport at Crabble last Saturday.
That has left Whites 13th and 12 points out of the play-offs with 13 games to go, starting with the trip to Aldershot on Tuesday night.
Kinnear has always told it as it is and he wasn’t about to change.
He said: “We conceded two really, really poor goals against Southport and that’s not good enough.
“To be honest, we are looking a bit fragile at the back at the moment.
“On one hand we are scoring goals at the other end but leaking them at ours and that’s a cause for concern.”
