Dover midfielder Nicky Deverdics has already scored a winning goal in the FA Cup this season.
His header secured Whites a 1-0 victory over Eastbourne Borough in the FA Cup fourth round qualifying replay at Crabble last month.
The former Newcastle United trainee, Dover’s second highest scorer with five goals in all competitions, would love to do the same in the second round tie at League 2 side Cheltenham Town on Sunday.
But he admits he’s got to do better in front of goal than he did in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Torquay United in the Vanarama Conference clash at Crabble if he’s to do so.
Deverdics, who signed for Dover last July, said: “It was just one of those nights when nothing went right. It was really frustrating.
“I had three or four great chances in the second half but it (the ball) just didn’t come off the foot at all well.
“I felt good, I felt I made a nuisance of myself but I just couldn't get it right when it came to trying to score.
“You can be sure that I’ll be doing my best to ensure that’s not the case on Sunday.”
