Dover have been dealt a major blow with top scorer Aaron Cosgrave returning to his parent club.
Four-goal hitman Cosgrave, 22, has been recalled by League 1 AFC Wimbledon after making 22 appearances for National League basement boys Whites this season.
A season-long loan deal had been agreed in July but the Dons did have a recall option within that deal - and have opted to exercise that clause.
A Dover statement confirmed the news, adding: "Everyone at the club would like to thank Aaron for giving his all during his time with us and we all wish him the very best for the future.
"Best wishes also to the Dons for the remainder of their season too!"
On Twitter, Cosgrave said: "Thank you @DoverAthletic for the past six months. Despite the results, it’s been a great experience.
"Most importantly, a big thank you to the fans for your support through these tough times - it doesn’t go unnoticed.
"All the best to everyone involved for the future."
His final Dover appearance came in their 1-0 FA Trophy defeat to Bromley on December 18.
He missed Whites' festive fixtures, a 2-0 Boxing Day loss at home to Dagenham and a 3-2 defeat at Woking on Tuesday, with Dover manager Andy Hessenthaler saying he was recovering after contracting Covid.
Whites are also due to make decisions on loan players Junior Tiensia, of Millwall, Crawley's Harry Ransom and Henry Woods, of Gillingham, with those players due back at their parent clubs at some stage in January at present.
Dover's next match is at eighth-placed Dagenham on Sunday.
