DOVER ATHLETIC chairman Mick Kemp has confirmed that goalkeeper Paul Hyde and midfielder Billy Bone have both been subject to internal club disciplinary procedures.
According to manager Steve Browne, Hyde has taken his case to the Professional Footballers' Association, although no one at the PFA offices in Manchester would confirm that they were in discussions with Dover over the matter.
The long-serving goalkeeper, sidelined by injury in recent weeks, refused to travel with the reserve team to Tooting on Saturday, and Browne said: "I have fined Paul Hyde the maximum amount of wages allowed under club rules, and he has gone to the PFA.
"It's a club internal issue and I don't want to prejudice the matter by commenting further at this stage. I have asked Paul to stay away from the club for two weeks."
Bone, meanwhile, was recently relieved of his duties as the club's youth development officer and told to concentrate on getting fit to play again.
Browne, who gained his first victory as manager with Saturday's 2-1 home win over Tonbridge Angels, insisted: "We are doing everything in the correct manner. All we ask is for players to honour their contracts and no one player will dictate to me what he will or will not do for this club.
"I am the manager and choose the team. We've done nothing unreasonable since I've been here. We are building a good team spirit and all disciplinary matters will be dealt with internally.
"Fans of this club are paying to come through the turnstiles to pay the players' wages. We don't want any player to use this club as a gravy train. We want to win matches, get the fans buzzing again and get Dover Athletic back up to where it should be."
