Dover Athletic have completed the signing of former Gillingham keeper Stuart Nelson.
The 40-year-old has put pen to paper with Andy Hessenthaler's Whites to play in National League South this season.
Nelson made 223 appearances for Gillingham - Ron Hillyard and John Simpson are the only goalkeepers to have played more games for the club.
He played every game during the title-winning 2012/13 season under Martin Allen at Gills.
Most recently, Nelson played twice for League 2 newboys Sutton in March. He was previously at Crawley and Dorking Wanderers while he was the regular no.1 for Yeovil in the National League in the 2019/20 season, ironically keeping a clean sheet at Dover in March 2020, just before the season was halted due to Covid.
Dover boss Hessenthaler has already kept hold of experienced centre-back Jake Goodman as well as signing striker Alfie Pavey after his release from Maidstone alongside Alfie Paxman and Jordan Higgs from Folkestone and Dulwich Hamlet, respectively.
