Dover Athletic Jimmy Dryden has rejoined Folkestone Invicta on a two-year contract after turning down a new contract offer from Whites.

The striker is returning to Invicta two-and-a half years after he left them to join Dover.

Dryden, who scored the goal against Burgess Hill last month which clinched the Ryman 1 South title for Dover, was again the club's leading scorer in the league this season.

Whites boss Andy Hessenthaler said on the club's official website: “Jimmy phoned me and said he’s not going to be staying with us.

“He feels he won’t get regular first team football – but I feel he did get that this season. He was our top goalscorer.

“However, he leaves us on amicable terms and there’s certainly no animosity between us.

“Jimmy’s made his decision and I wish him all the best for the future."

Folkestone manager Neil Cugley said: "Jim made a major contribution to Dover reaching the play-offs on two occasions and of course promotion this season, that's why I am so pleased to have a player of this quality in my side for the forthcoming season."
