KENT’S exciting young darts talent Ross Smith has been selected to play for the England Youth team.

The 16-year-old from Dover has been included in a four-strong squad to represent England at under-18 level in a tournament in Holland in July which will feature teams from all over Europe.

It completes a marvellous season for the Astor School pupil, who began the campaign playing for the Kent senior B team but then won promotion to the A side, where he has won three of his five matches.

Ross, who plays for the Mill Inn in the Deal league, is also unbeaten in his matches for the Kent Youth team and recently finished joint ninth in a senior competition at Great Yarmouth when he was up against many of the country’s leading players.
