Andy Hessenthaler hopes Dover's “wounded” players can take advantage of any complacency from Yate during their FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay.
The two sides will meet again tonight at Lodge Park, having drawn 1-1 at Crabble on Saturday.
The winner of the tie will earn £9,375 in prize money and a place in the first round where they will meet National League opposition in either Yeovil or Weymouth at home. They also drew 1-1 at the weekend and will decide their tie in their replay tonight.
Last season, coincidently, Yeovil knocked Whites out on penalties at the fourth qualifying round stage of the competition.
Looking ahead to the replay against Yate, when Whites will again target a first win of the season, Dover boss Hessenthaler said: “It's going to be a tough game again.
“You would like to think they maybe would be a little bit complacent, thinking they have won the tie because they have got us back to their place.
“But for me, if we are not wounded from this (drawing the initial tie), then we have got no chance.
“We have to take it out on them, get after them, stay strong and win the game.”
Player-coach Reda Johnson will serve a one-match suspension after being sent off in the original tie but Hessenthaler is hopeful he may be able to welcome back some of his sidelined players.
Koby Arthur (thigh), Seth Twumasi (knee), Will Moses (knee) and on-loan Gillingham midfielder Henry Woods (abductor) are among those who have been on the treatment table of late. French midfielder Yannis Drais is likely to be added to the injury list, too, having picked up a rib problem.
Hessenthaler said: “We have a couple out that could be available for the replay.
“We are hoping Ryan Hanson has got through it (having come on having recovered from a knee injury) because we didn’t really want to put Ryan on, or Reda.
“Unfortunately Reda got sent off but he will only miss one game."
The tie in Gloucestershire will go to extra-time and penalties if it remains level after 90 minutes.
Dover, bottom of the National League, are without a match this Saturday.
