One of the best young footballers to come out of Kent in recent years is returning to play in the county.
Dover Athletic have pulled off a transfer coup by completing the signing of highly-rated midfielder Sammy Moore - beating competition from a host of Football League and Blue Square Premier clubs.
The 20-year-old, who lives in Deal and is the younger brother of former Dover player Jason, made 24 appearances at League 2 club Brentford last season while on loan from Championship side Ipswich, where he made one first team appearance as a substitute.
When Ipswich released him in January, Moore signed a short-term contract with Stevenage and played 12 matches for them in the Blue Square Premier.
Whites manager Andy Hessenthaler told the club's official website:
"I've heard a lot of good things about the kid and seen him a few times on the TV.
"He is a decent player, someone who is a little bit like myself in that he is box-to-box, and I'm looking forward to working with him.
"Steve Butler coached him at Stevenage and told me he is too good for this level, but we've managed to persuade him to sign - so we're delighted about that."
Moore said: "Andy Hessenthaler and the chairman, Jim Parmenter, really sold me the club - and I was so impressed with the set up.
"I could see this was a club that wants to go forward and, for me, that was what clinched it.
"Obviously, I know all about Dover Athletic - as I used to stand on the terraces when I was little, watching my brother Jason.
"They're a big club at this level and want to get into the Football League. That's where I want to be going and wish to be part of what they're trying to achieve down here."
