Chris Kinnear insists Ricky Miller will have a big impact on Dover’s season, despite his continuing absence from the Whites line-up.
Miller has not started for Dover since being sent off four minutes into the second half at home against Boreham Wood on August 9, a game they led 1-0 at the time but went on to lose 4-1.
He played just 12 minutes in the two games following the resultant one-match ban before getting 20 minutes off the bench at Torquay on Saturday and the whole second half in Monday’s 2-1 home loss to Aldershot.
Whites boss Kinnear claimed he would possibly have to change his team for Saturday’s trip to Southport (3pm) after back-to-back defeats but said: “I’m not sure yet. I’ve got to have a think about it. We were better in the second half. Maybe that’s something we have got to address.
“It wasn’t as simple as Miller coming on but he does make a difference to us. In saying that, we’d won three on the trot (before Saturday).
“The way we play is we don’t change it too much too quick. Miller came on and does make a difference, yes, but there’s still 50-odd games to go and I’m sure he’ll have a lot to play and do for us to help us.”
Kinnear added: “I’ve never questioned his attitude. He wants to do well – they all do.
“You don’t always play well but I wouldn’t think for a minute that Rick wouldn’t give 100% – I’m not surprised by his attitude at all.”
