Dover boss Chris Kinnear was satisfied after seeing his side sweep aside Chester to return to the top-five of the Vanarama National League.
Ricky Miller struck twice and Joe Healy got his first Whites goal leaving James Alabi's first-half curler as a mere consolation.
Kinnear admitted: "I am pleased. First half it took us a little while to get into it. The pitch was really heavy. The groundsman did a great job to get it played because at 2pm on Friday it looked off.
"It made it boggy because of the frost coming out of it, but the pitch played a lot better than (we'd thought), which was great.
"We changed it the second half and I thought we dominated the game really and did enough to win the way we did."
Kinnear claimed he has to be versatile, explaining: "People now are coming to us and thinking 'how do we stop Dover?' We're the top-scorers in the league and unless you evolve like that you don't improve.
"The way we play is different to how we started the season and to last year. There's no set way to win games you just have to find a way."
Dover leapfrogged Barrow to return to the top-five, though Kinnear claims he expects the play-off race to have plenty of twists and turns left.
He said: "I would imagine it will change every week. You look at the other clubs and they are all ex-Football League clubs or have loads of money they can throw at whoever they like.
"We can only do what we're doing and not worry about anyone else. The players, the club and the supporters have achieved a great deal and we mustn't forget that - just hopefully we can continue that.
"At some stage there is going to be a bit of stabilising but at the moment we're pushing to get in those play-offs."
Saturday's win came after back-to-back defeats and Kinnear claimed: "Six points off the top and people are having a bit of a whinge?
"That's how sides start dropping down the table - if you listen to people who are negative."
