Dover boss Chris Kinnear has completed a hat-trick of signings with Italian-born attacking midfielder/winger Christian Nanetti moving to Crabble from Conference South side Havant & Waterlooville.
Nanetti, 22, a former QPR youth player, scored 20 goals in 97 games for Hawks after joining them from Lewes in March 2012.
Nanetti joins Kinnear’s earlier summer recruits, defender Tyrone Sterling (Dartford) and striker Stefan Payne (AFC Hornchurch).
Nanetti may not be the last to arrive with Kinnear saying he’s still looking to strengthen his squad ahead of their return to Conference Premier.
He said: “I’d like to add another one or two. There is always room to improve.”
In other squad news, influential midfielders Barry Cogan and Liam Bellamy, together with reserve goalkeeper Lee Hook, have all signed new one-year deals.
Although the deals have only just been signed, Kinnear said there was never any doubt about the trio staying.
He said: “They were never going to leave and there were no problems. The paperwork was agreed a long time ago.
“There has just been so much going on to finalise it.”
Kinnear’s side have won their opening two pre-season games, 4-1 at Ryman League, Premier Division side Canvey Island on Saturday and 2-0 at another Ryman side, Tonbridge Angels, on Tuesday.
Bellamy (2), Payne and an own goal sealed the win at Canvey, while Nathan Elder and trialist Jake Reid’s penalty proved enough at Tonbridge.
