Chris Kinnear believes he knows the reasons for Dover’s malaise and has vowed to ‘sort it in-house’ to avoid Whites’ winless run continuing.
Dover’s three match winning run was brought to a halt by back-to-back 2-1 defeats to Torquay and Aldershot over the Bank Holiday weekend, and Kinnear admitted to disappointment after his side slipped to 12th in Vanarama National League.
He said: “The first half against Aldershot especially we looked lacklustre but we did that on Saturday aswell.
“I don’t think I picked the wrong side for the game. We’re all in it as a team. I just think we all looked a bit lacklustre all the way around.”
He added: “In the second half I don’t think our keeper had a save to make and theirs was diving all over the place, even though we didn’t really do aswell as we were hoping.”
Kinnear claimed: “We play the way we play, we’re not Aldershot, a big ex-league club.
"We make the most of what we’ve got, and when we’re all at it, we do... Monday and Saturday, in the first halves, we weren’t as sharp as we have been.
There are several reasons but I’m not going to tell you at the moment. I’m going to keep it in-house and try and sort that.”
He admitted: “We were all disappointed. We gave away two bad goals really. It was exactly the same on Saturday. It’s not like us to give silly goals like that away.”
He added: “We’re going to go through little spells when things aren’t going for us, but we could go on runs like 21 games unbeaten like we were last season - it could happen.
“We have just got to make the most of what we’ve got and not get too down because if you get down you go on long runs of losing results.”
